Set against the soft, Greek-inspired architecture of a park, this styled session with my sister Cora and her boyfriend Ben was designed to feel light, romantic, and timeless. Cora wore a flowing white engagement-style dress that moved beautifully with the spring breeze, complementing the vibrant greens around us. I approached the shoot with a Fujifilm, film-inspired vision, prioritizing luminous tones, gentle contrast, and a nostalgic softness. I'm heavily inspired by photographers in East Asia, often using cool-toned, film inspired editing, and leading the photoshoot in a way that feels like a romantic comedy. I blended editorial, static posing with playful prompts and natural motion to create a gallery that felt both refined and alive.
Midway through the session, as I adjusted my camera settings, I looked up to see Ben down on one knee holding something in his hand, sending me into a moment of total shock as I thought a real proposal was unfolding in front of me. Seconds later, the two burst into laughter, revealing it was all a prank, and the energy of the shoot shifted into fun and laughter. We finished the session laughing, teasing, and leaning into the humor of the moment, resulting in images that feel candid, affectionate, and full of the genuine connection that makes photographing them such a joy every time.
