The day began with a moment of excitement as Amit’s family arrived at Subi’s home carrying beautifully arranged plates of food, a symbolic offering of abundance and union. Subi waited upstairs, hidden from view, before descending the staircase beneath a sheer fabric held by her family, a tender, cinematic entrance that marked the transition into the celebration. Once together, both families gathered to share a generous feast, filling the house with warmth, conversation, and the unmistakable feeling of two families becoming one.

At the heart of the engagement ceremony, tradition and joy intertwined: heartfelt speeches were shared, the engagement was formally agreed upon, and a prayer grounded the moment in reverence. Subi and Amit then cut their cake, feeding each other and inviting every family member to join in, each person taking turns sharing both cake and laughter. The celebration unfolded into dance performances by the women of the family, culminating in Subi’s own dance for Amit, before everyone stepped outside to end the night beneath fireworks and sparklers, celebrating a love surrounded by light, movement, and community.
